Júlio de Jesus is a consultant, with 25 years experience in preparing and reviewing EIA, SEA and Heritage Impact Assessments reports. He has a degree in environmental engineering (New University of Lisbon).
Júlio has a great experience in the coordination of interdisciplinary teams, including socio-economic, environment, health, landscape, and cultural heritage experts, and has been involved in EIA legislation development in Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde and in EIA teaching and training.
He is CEO of Júlio de Jesus Consultores, Lda., a Portuguese consultancy specialized in Impact Assessment.
Since 2002 Júlio has been involved in projects related to the environmental impact of offshore renewable energy projects: Co-coordinator of "Windtour - Methodological Guidelines for the Environmental and Socio Economic Impact Assessment of Offshore Windfarms in Touristic Areas" (project for the European Commission, 2002-2003), Coordinator of the EIAs of Pelamis Wave Farm at Aguçadoura (2006), Windfloat at Aguçadoura (2011), and Windfloat Atlantic at Viana do Castelo (2014); co-coordinator of the environmental monitoring and management of Windfloat (2011-current).
